The trailer of Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad was released earlier today. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha speaks about violence in a relationship. In the film, Taapsee Pannu plays the role of a wife who faces slap from her husband during a party, post which she demands a divorce demanding she deserves love and respect. This film comes a few months after Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh which had sparked a debate on violence in relationships. Filmmaker Tushar Hiranandani who made his directorial debut by chronicling the life of two of Indian's oldest sharpshooters Chandro and Praskashi Tomar with Saand Ki Aankh , is working on another biopic. Tushar Hiranandani while talking to a news agency said that the next focuses on the life of a young entrepreneur. The director is currently working on the scrip of the film along with Jagdeep Sidhu who is the writer of Saand Ki Aankh . The filmmaker revealed that the film is based on the life of young entrepreneur who is 25-years-old and is a motivational story from a small town. Speaking to me on Thursday morning Javed Saab said, “Shabana is completely recovered now. She has been fully healed for some time now. But the doctors decided to keep her under observation in hospital for a few days extra and I completely agreed with them. She is now ready to return home. Dancer and choreographer Ganesh Acharya alleged that senior dancer Saroj Khan conspired against him and harboured corruption in the industry. Acharya's statement comes after an assistant female choreographer reportedly filed a case against him accusing of harassment. "This is the conspiracy against me to malign my image; there are people like Saroj Khan and her colleagues who are doing corruption in the industry. Their business has flopped as I have entered the association," said Acharya in a statement. "I will file a defamation case against Saroj Khan and her team who are defaming me and stooping so low to do that, they are doing this because their business has gone in vain they used to earn money sitting at home illegally and I am against it so will put all my efforts to fight against them," he added. Ajay Devgn is set to essay the role of squadron leader Vijay Karnik in his next film, Bhuj: The Pride of India. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sharad Kelkar, Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt, Ammy Virk among others. The movie is based on a true incident and happens to be one of India’s most fascinating war-related stories. The cast began shooting in Bhopal on January 12. Pakistan has been recreated in Bhopal. Nora Fatehi filmed some crucial scenes including chase sequence and a dance number. She plays Indian spy in the film and will wrap up her schedule on January 31. The makers have roped in actors to play Pakistani army and had tanks and trucks to make the war sequences realistic. The film which stars Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, introduces Arushi Sharma in her first film as a leading lady. She had previously made a cameo in Imtiaz's 2015 rom-com Tamasha . While talking to a tabloid, Arushi revealed that acting was never on the cards for her. Arushi, who is from Himachal Pradesh said that there was no active theatre scene there. It was only when Imtiaz Ali was in her college in Shimla to do a recee for Tamasha did she audition for the part of Sanjukta. Anil Kapoor, who is currently promoting Malang, recently revealed that he had pitched Indian remake of Tom Hanks' starrer Forrest Gump to Kundan Shah. The actor spoke about how he wanted to do the Indian remake at one point before the film could release in India. Someone had informed him about the film and he then spoke to Kundan about it. Kundan Shah was known for Jaane Bhi Do Yaari that released in 1998. Anil said that he had found problems in the second half of the story. He said, at that time, they did not have the rights of the film and the second half of the changed entirely. He said it did not work for him. Anil revealed that they had recorded the songs for the film. Interestingly, Aamir Khan is making the Indian adaptation of Forrest Gump titled Laal Singh Chaddha that is releasing on Christmas 2020.
